Ring in Manufacturing Month with a New ICPF Toolkit for Local High School Outreach

Dear ICPF Partners,

Today, October 1, marks the beginning of Manufacturing Month and we’re excited to share ICPF’s newest toolkit for middle and high school student outreach. You are invited to use the materials below to aid in your efforts to raise youth awareness of innovative manufacturing jobs and careers in the corrugated packaging industry this month and beyond.

ICPF has created an accessible, hands-on activity where middle and high school students can design, build, and test a phone case using only corrugated materials. This project, approved and refined by educators and career counselors, not only showcases the versatility and sustainability of corrugated packaging but also allows the next generation of talent to explore the creative and practical applications of our industry. Use the link below to access a complete slide deck including:

  • Activity instructions & examples
  • ICPF’s industry highlight video
  • Industry & career-related information
  • A QR code to help students stay connected!

If you’d like to customize these slides with your own company’s branding materials, please respond to this email to get started.

If you have yet to contact local school districts near your plants, or are looking to strengthen and expand your network, consider using ICPF’s templated message to school district staff to get started. We’ve compiled a toolkit folder with these downloadable resources, including ICPF’s Corrugated Jobs Quiz:

Complete Student (Grade 6-12) Outreach Toolkit

Share this with your hiring managers, encourage employees to present this toolkit at their child’s school, or even make this part of your community outreach initiatives. Together, let’s voice the amazing opportunities that can come from choosing a #careerincorrugated. And thank you for your continued partnership as we work to shape and increase the future workforce of the corrugated packaging industry.
